Just recently past 2 weeks my VMWARE guest running Win10 vmware workstation 14 hangs free started having terrible performance issues and periodically freezes for seconds at a time. The Host is not having these freezes and issues and this guest has vmware workstation 14 hangs free active for years so it's not new at all.

TDSSKiller reported no rootkits. An example of what I'll see is I'm watching Process Explorer which auto refreshes every 2secs Then when it becomes responsive again, it's like it's catching up.

So it'll still do the tasks that were supposed to be done while 'frozen' when it comes responsive again. Note that I will see these freezes while in anything on the system, but Process Explorer is just a good example.
